I made these for my Illustration class project in which we had to design our own currency. I made two for the same country...such a shame that the 1 on the griffin currency was removed for some weird reason. . >:/ darn technology. Anyway, I made up two versions for the same country, but with different audiences in mind. The upper one is directed towards native Kiratomians. Since they come from another planet and have been separated from human culture, they have their own number system. The upper one is a "1" unit of currency, and it shows the Queen Nikita. She becomes an influential queen of Eleran (The Elvish Kingdom. They call themselves Eleran or Eleranian) and Kiratomian culture, because she brought all the divided cultures of Kiratomia together, discovered other cultures and was influential in introducing Kiratomia to humans. Yes, that is Lord of the Rings Elvish I used. I made up my own Eleranian language in a way...sort of. ^^; I tried to make it consistent with the grammar I created awhile back. The Mermaid symbol is important because mermaids are travelers and have connections to the human world and other cultures already. Messaging and trading with Mer-people became an influence in connecting other cultures to people outside Kiratomia.
The other is directed towards both Kiratomians and foreigners (humans). There was a "1" symbol here, but for some reason it didn't show up here. I'll have to fix that. :/ Anyway, it's pretty simple, and depicts a Griffin.
